What a Load of Rubbish is the forty-second episode of Season 4 of the Animated Series and the ninety-fourth episode overall.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean is on the mission to rescue Teddy at the rubbish dump.
Plot[]
Bean enters his room to bring a flower pot in. He sees that his room is already full of items, so he places his flower pot on the bookcase; then the shelf collapses, so Bean removes the flower pot. He places the flower pot on the floor, then sits on his chair when he accidentally sits on a cup, so he places it on the poster; the stack of items collapses due to the excess weight. Bean realises his room is full of junk and rubbish, so he decides to throw them away. Bean then cleans his room and sees the rubbish truck arrive, so he hurriedly cleans his room, not noticing he mistakenly placed Teddy in the rubbish bag as well. Bean takes out the refuse bags and runs outside to give them to the binman. Now that the rubbish is gone, Bean returns home and places his flower pot on the bookcase. Bean then sees Teddy is gone, so he remembers what had happened earlier; he realises he accidentally threw Teddy into the rubbish bag. He sees the binman throw the black waste bag containing Teddy inside the lorry, much to Bean's terror. Bean tries to tell the rubbish collectors to stop, but they can't hear him because they were listening to music on the car radio. The lorry drives away, so Bean has to rescue Teddy.
Bean sees his Mini parked on the street outside, so he drives it to follow the rubbish truck. Unfortunately, however, Bean had to stop to let an elderly woman slowly cross the street. When the elderly lady reaches the pavement, her bag hits the kerb, causing her purse to burst open and scattering her coins and change onto the road. So she has to get back onto the road to retrieve them, much to Bean's annoyance. Bean helps the elderly lady collect her coins and cross the street. After he helps the elderly woman, Bean gets back in his car to continue chasing the dustbin lorry, but he can no longer find it. Bean finally finds the bin lorry on its way to the landfill site. Bean enters the landfill when more refuse trucks get in his way, so Bean has to make way for them. Bean exits his Mini and sees the vast landfill.
Bean enters the landfill to search for Teddy. He hears a rustling noise in the other bin bag, so he picks it up, thinking that it was Teddy but, to his surprise, a rat comes out of it. A seagull tries to pluck the eye out of a broken stuffed toy. Bean continues searching for Teddy when he decides to climb a rubbish mountain to reach the other side of the landfill; he is unsuccessful so he pulls out a bed nearby and jumps on it, causing him to jump to the other side. At the other side, Bean sees an enormous amount of bin bags so he opens every single one of them to search for Teddy. Then the seagull lands in front of Bean to which Bean shoos it. The refuse collection truck that collected Bean's waste arrives and Teddy is strapped onto the front grille of the truck. Bean tries to pull Teddy off, but the two binmen stop him and kick him out of the landfill site. Angry and undeterred, Bean vows to return to the landfill. He returns to the landfill at night where he climbs on the gate, thinking that it was locked, but it opens. Now inside the landfill, Bean brings out his torch light and starts searching for Teddy. He finds Teddy and is going to cut the rope when he hears something; it was just the seagull from earlier. Bean cuts the rope and frees Teddy when he sees other toys strapped to the grilles of the other bin lorries, so he removes them and brings them home. Bean says 'hi' to every toy he took home.
