Plot
A criminal who shares a somewhat similar appearance with Bean has escaped from the prison. However, the alarm goes off as the criminal runs from the prison to escape. Mr. Bean is getting ready for a bath but he hears the siren and sees a police helicopter flying outside looking for the criminal. Mr. Bean groans and shuts the curtains, as the criminal puts a ladder on the other window so he can hide in his house. He nearly tips over a vase and eats the remains of a half-eaten sandwich that Mr. Bean ate and leaves a bit of it. He sees Mr. Bean's clothes and just as he was about to put them on, Mr. Bean comes out of the bathroom drying his face with a towel. As Mr. Bean went to get his shaver, the criminal was hidden under the rug and the former walked over it and then went back to the bathroom. However, before he returned to his bath, Mr. Bean noticed that he felt that the rug had a lump but as he looked back, the rug was flat. He turns off the light and leaves to shave. As soon as the door was shut, the criminal was seen hiding behind the door and he prepares to put Mr. Bean's clothes on. Later, as Mr. Bean shaves, he accidentally gets his shaver stuck to his nose because of a nose hair and uses scissors to get it off. Soon, the criminal was in Mr. Bean's clothes and screwed the light bulb out. Mr. Bean had finished shaving so he came back into his room. Mr. Bean tries to turn on the light but since the criminal put out the bulb, it was dark and Bean couldn't see well. He puts on the criminal's clothes without knowing as it is dark and goes to bed. However, he found it hard to go to sleep due to a lump being there. Mr. Bean bangs it hard so that it is flat and he can sleep in peace. The lump turns out to be the criminal who was squashed all night.
In the morning, Mr. Bean wakes up and the criminal is still hiding under the bed. Later, the cops are seen outside putting up wanted posters to find the criminal as Mr. Bean comes out to collect the milk. While doing so, he sees the police and curious goes to see what's going on. The police tell him that they are looking for an escaped prisoner and are putting out wanted posters. They ask if he has seen the criminal as they show him the poster of the criminal's face, instead Mr. Bean begins ranting as he is shown to dislike the criminal already as he said "Shocking!". The criminal looks out the window to see Mr. Bean talking to the police and panics. However, the chief cop was about to leave when until noticed that Mr. Bean looked similar to the prisoner and saw he was wearing the criminal's prison uniform as his nightgown opened. The cops assume that Mr. Bean is the criminal, believing that he is disguising himself, and arrests Mr. Bean by mistake. The criminal laughs at his luck and of Mr. Bean's unfortunate predicament while taking Mr. Bean's milk inside. Then the Rock Delivery Truck arrives. However, Scrapper, thinking he was the real Mr. Bean, annoyed the criminal resulting in him being kicked. Mrs. Wicket is then seen looking out the window for rocks.
At the prison, Mr. Bean was being taken to his prison cell, passing by other criminals. He sees the burglars (he often gets them into prison) watching his favorite show and he laughs at the clown's accident. However, he gets shooed by the big burglar. Mr. Bean arrives at his cell and then makes a Teddy made out of his food while the criminal watches TV at Mr. Bean's house and sits on teddy by accident and throws him and while watching tv the criminal hears Mrs Wicket coming upstairs and turns off the TV. Then the criminal goes to the door not before putting on sunglasses as a disguise and answers Mrs Wicket who makes him do rockery as agreed. Bean in his cell combs his hair and realizes it's made of a hard material and tries to break through the bars on his window but fails, the guard then comes in with a mop and bucket and tells him to clean up his cell and Bean while the guard back was turned makes an imprint of his cell key on the teddy he made earlier and uses his comb to turn a tile piece which broke off earlier into a key to break out. Back at the house Mrs Wicket is supervising the criminal making the rockery and he quickly becomes annoyed of her telling him to hurry up making the rockery. Back at the jail Bean quickly tests out his key and successfully opens his cell door and quietly walks through the other cells and passes by the cell of the two criminals who he stops all the time and tells him to let them out. Bean refuses and the big criminal quickly offers him a chicken leg and says he'll give it to him if he lets them out first. Bean unlocks their cell door to let them out but when he does, the large burgler reveals that he lied, while Daz steals Beans key and open the mail jail door to get out before locking it, leaving Bean to rot in jail. Bean disappointed walks back to his cell and sees the criminals left there cell door open and left the TV on. Bean took there TV, chair, and the chicken and brought them to his cell and relaxes watching TV and eating the chicken. Back at the house the criminal finishes the rockery and Mrs Wicket points out something is missing and tells the criminal to move a gnome and does it begrudgingly and when he gets back Mrs Wicket gives him a hard pat on the back and knocks his glasses back (but doesn't realise it's not really Bean) and tells him to mow the lawn but the mower won't start and so Mrs Wicket goes in the shed and gets out a pair of scissors to mow the lawn with, night comes and the criminal who is still triming the grass with the scissors screams and runs back to the prison leaving Mrs Wicket confused. The criminal arrives at the prison and moves the bricks he opened earlier to get back inside and Bean who's in his cell laughing while watching TV sees the criminal coming into the cell and realises he looks just like him and the criminal apologises for the misunderstanding and tell him that the cops arrested him thinking he was the criminal and after saying sorry end up sitting on the couch watching TV with both back in there regular clothes. The guard walks into the two criminals cell who left earlier and discover they escaped and the criminal shows Bean the way out and says there goodbyes and that it was nice meeting each other and Bean happy he's out yells out he's free but then the prison alarm goes off and Bean quickly flees away.
