Trophy Bean is the 26th and final episode of Season 3 and 130th episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. It was first broadcast on 8 October 2019 on CITV. This is the last episode to be aired on that channel before its shut down in 1 September 2023 and moved to ITV2 for reruns and future episodes.
After this episode, there will be no new episodes for the next 6 years until the Season 4 premiere A Day In Bed and Karting Bean released in May 2025.
This episode has only one upload that was on the official channel, currently sitting at 1.4 million views as of 2025.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean is forced to baby-sit Mrs. Wicket's nephew on an Outward Bound day course.
Plot[]
A newspaper is placed inside the letterbox which Bean gets. Bean hears music coming from Wicket's room so he goes inside to hear her nephew listening to music in his phone while he's eating Pop cereal. Wicket is reading a wrestling magazine and her ears are covered in cloth because the music is too loud. Wicket's nephew opens the Pop cereal box which causes the cereal to fall on Wicket. Wicket's nephew turns off the music and reveals he found two tickets in the cereal box. Bean congratulates Wicket's nephew and asks him what did he win. He says he won two tickets to the Outward Bound activity center. Wicket's nephew asks his aunt if he can go to which Wicket says no chance to his dismay. Bean snatches the tickets from Wicket's nephew, who wants them back. Wicket gets the tickets from Bean and says it's her cereal and Bean can take her nephew with him, to his delight and to Bean's dismay. Bean reluctantly agrees and Wicket's nephew is happy. Wicket's nephew gets his speaker and he and Bean leave. Wicket can finally relax and read her comic book when she crushes Pop cereals when she sits on her chair.
Outside, Bean and Wicket's nephew go to Bean's Mini where Bean tells Wicket's nephew to go to the back because Teddy will sit in front. Bean and Wicket's nephew go to Outward Bound which is outside London. Bean turns on the radio which Wicket's nephew doesn't like so he turns on his loud music, causing Bean to lose control because it's too loud. Wicket's nephew increases the volume so Bean does the same. Bean drives by a farm of cows, where they and the farmer are shocked by the loud music. Bean asks Wicket's nephew if he can borrow his speaker and Bean changes the music to the music he's playing, annoying Wicket's nephew. Bean puts the speaker on the floor so Wicket's nephew can't reach it.
They arrive at Outward Bound and Bean turns off the music. Wicket's nephew struggles leaving Bean's Mini so Bean takes the tickets, annoying him. A coach wearing a purple outfit exits the main building to welcome them. He high fives with Bean and Bean give him the tickets. Bean and Wicket's nephew go inside. Bean exits the main building where is he wearing a blue outfit while Wicket's nephew is wearing a red outfit. The coach shows them the scoreboard. Suddenly, he takes a picture of both of them. Bean is shocked while Wicket's nephew is smiling. For the second photo, Bean does a wacky pose on Wicket's nephew. The coach explains to them that every time they win an event they get a point; the player with the most points wins the trophy. Bean and Wicket's nephew say the trophy is theirs. The coach likes them having a bitter competition and starts the event.
The first challenge is rock climbing where the first person to the top wins. Bean and Wicket's nephew rock climb where Wicket's nephew is up ahead. Bean sees the gloves on top so he pretends to be giving up and goes down. He says he needs some gloves and he'll throw the rope he can tie them on. Bean lassos the rope on top and tells the coach to set the whole bag down; Bean chuckles mischievously. The coach drops the bag, causing Bean to be flung upwards and reach the top; Bean is the winner of rock climbing. Bean earns 1 point in rock climbing.
The second challenge is build a raft where the first person to the other side of the river wins. They can use the available materials to construct a raft. Wicket's nephew rolls the two blue barrels while Bean thinks of what to use. Wicket's nephew has tied two wooden boards on the two blue barrels and he rows the raft to the other side. Suddenly, Bean has made his own raft made of wood planks, a chair, and a bicycle. He pedals his way to the other side of the river. The propeller causes waves to form and destroy Wicket's nephew's raft, causing him to fall to the river. The coach throws a life preserver for Wicket's nephew to hold. Bean laughs at Wicket's nephew because he earns 1 point in building a raft.
The third challenge is a ball rolling where the first person to the bottom wins. Bean mocks Wicket's nephew by saying he'll do better this time. Wicket's nephew gets in his ball and he rolls down. Bean looks at the things he can use to bounce the ball off. He gets in his ball where he rolls down, hitting Wicket's nephew in the process and making him hit the thorns, causing his ball to deflate. Bean lands at the bottom and Wicket's nephew lands as well and his ball is completely deflated. Bean earns 1 point in ball rolling. Wicket's nephew is angry because Bean has 3 points whereas he still has 0 points.
The fourth challenge is hoverboarding where the first person to go to the other side and back to the starting point wins. The coach shows that they should go around the cones. Wicket's nephew is up ahead. When Wicket's nephew is going back to the starting point, Bean causes him to lose control, hit a cone, and fall off his hoverboard. Bean is now up ahead, knocking the cones to stop Wicket's nephew from progressing. He hits a tree stump and falls to a thorny bush. While Bean returns to the starting point. Wicket's nephew comes out of the bush. Bean earns 1 point in hoverboarding.
The fifth and final challenge is is tightrope walking. The coach tells Wicket's nephew to give it a try in which he says there's no point because he won't be able to win the trophy because Bean has 4 points while he still has 0 points. Bean knows it's true but he wants to do it anyway. Bean tightrope walks and mocks Wicket's nephew by making chicken noises. The coach tells Bean to be careful and Bean falls off the rope. Wicket's nephew laughs at Bean to get back at him for mocking him. Bean says he's fine and he tries to climb back up but he can't. The rope is about to snap so the coach goes up to rescue Bean. The coach tightrope walks but he's too heavy so he goes back. He needs someone lighter. Wicket's nephew will help Bean if he gets 5 points and the trophy. Bean gets shocked because he doesn't want to give up his score and the trophy so he disagrees and tries to leave himself. The coach says deal and Wicket's nephew is satisfied. So he saves Bean, ignoring Bean's protests, by attaching his harness to Bean's harness. Bean ungratefully tells Wicket's nephew he was fine to which Wicket's nephew zip lines, causing Bean to hit thorny bushes along the way down. Wicket's nephew is the winner which Bean doesn't accept. Wicket's nephew receives his trophy and the coach tells him to have a winning smile and pictures him happily holding his trophy and Bean is angry in the background. They then go home. Wicket's nephew is triumphant because he wins the trophy while Bean is resentful because he didn't win the trophy. Wicket's nephew plays his music again, annoying Bean but he gives up.
