Toothache is the 6th episode of Season 2 and 24th episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean bites down on a piece of popcorn, causing him much pain. He thinks that pulling out his painful tooth will resolve his problems. However, after he pulls out his tooth in many different ways, it makes a whistling sound every time he breathes through his mouth. He tries to put his tooth back but it sticks by the glue, so instead he use the toy triceratops' horn as a tooth. Then, Bean goes to a dentist to have the tooth removed and repaired. However, when Bean tries to fix the misplaced toy horn, its toy horn accidentally struck his tooth.
Plot[]
Mr. Bean is watching a film on TV, munching on some popcorn. Inside the TV, a coffin opens, scaring Bean. A woman screams when a vampire approaches her then gives her a bat-shaped lollipop. The film Bean is watching turns out to be a commercial for a lollipop brand named Batty that costs 99 pence. Bean is relieved when he realizes it was just a commercial, but when he bites down on a popcorn, it breaks one of his tooth and loosens it, causing him to scream in pain.
Later, he checks his tooth in the mirror, hurting him when he moves it. Bean puts salt in his glass of water and mixes it with a dough mixer. Bean is disgusted when he tastes the salty water and puts the entire salt in the glass. Bean then mixes the water harder than earlier and starts gurgling it. After Bean chokes on the water and spits it out, his tooth still hurts.
Bean opens the freezer to get some ice, only to realize that it's completely filled with ice. So Bean grabs the fork to break the ice, similar to that of an ice pick. After breaking the ice, the fork is broken and Bean throws it away. Bean puts the ice on his aching tooth, relieving him. While Bean is sleeping, the ice starts melting, revealing a rotten fish inside. Bean wakes up because he smells something bad and he sees the fish, disgusting him. Bean notices that it's 2:30 a.m. so he stayed awake until morning. At breakfas, hebites the toast, breaking his tooth again, causing him to scream in pain and the birds outside to fly away.
Later, Bean uses a dental floss on his tooth. He then attaches the floss to his door knob and kicks the door to close it, but his tooth does not fall off. Bean then measures the length of the floss with a tape measure and kicks the door again but the door knob comes off instead, annoying Bean; when he tries to remove his tooth, it just hurts him.
Bean then puts a drawer to his window but can't because it's very heavy. So Bean puts four floaters underneath the drawer and inflates them so it can stay on the window. When Bean removes the floaters, the drawer stays in place. He puts the floaters outside and Scrapper screeches at him, annoying Bean. Bean then puts the floaters right below the drawer which is hanging in his window. When Bean goes back inside, Scrapper sees the floaters and sleeps there because they're comfortable to sleep on. Bean ties the drawer using the floss while he ties himself to his chair using ropes. Once he's secure enough, he throws a saucepan to the drawer, causing it to fall down. Unfortunately, the tooth really won't come off and Bean gets pulled through the window and to the floaters, sending Scrapper flying in the process. Bean tries to remove the tooth but it still won't come off and it hurts him. Scrapper falls to the floaters, stabbing them with his claws, cutting them and deflating them.
Later, Bean attaches the floss to a nearby tree on the other side of the street, hoping that the fast speed of the vehicles will remove his tooth. He sees a red car driving by so he stays behind the light post on the other side of the tree, but it's too short so it just drives under the floss. Fortunately, the next vehicle is a man riding on a white scooter which is taller than the red car so Bean prepares. When the driver runs into the floss, he falls off his scooter; Bean's tooth has not come off and he gets pulled to the other side. The Reliant drives by and loses control when it tries to avoid hitting the scooter, hitting a tree and several acorns fall on it. Bean tries to get away, but the floss snaps. That night, Bean is unable to eat is popcorn because his tooth hurts. Ironically, he's watching a cooking channel. Bean then takes a bite on a popcorn, hurting his tooth and it successfully comes off, finally relieving him. Unfortunately, he makes a whistling noise every time he breathes through the gap in his teeth, annoying him.
Bean tries to put his tooth back in, but he applies the glue on the wrong side of his tooth, making it stick on his finger. In the attic, he looks in the chest to look for an item to cover the gap in his teeth; he finds a puzzle piece, a building block, and then a toy triceratops. Bean removes the horn of the toy triceratops using a saw to use it as a makeshift tooth. Bean goes to brush his teeth, but gets a fright when he sees himself with the horn on the gap of his teeth in the mirror, making him look like a monster. So Bean decides to go to Dr Fangpuller's dental clinic.
He rings the doorbell and the receptionist answers it, in which she gets scared at Bean because he looks like a monster. He explains to her that his tooth is stuck on his finger and briefly pretends to be a monster; the receptionist lets him in. In the waiting room, the patients get scared because Bean looks like a monster; Bean pretends to be a monster. When the receptionist asks who's next, all the patients point to Bean because they're scared to even look at him. Inside the clinic, the dentist pretends to be a monster, scaring Bean and fainting him. When Bean wakes up, the dentist removes the glue using a driller. Bean shows the dentist the fake tooth so the dentist is doing an x-ray on Bean's teeth. The dentist turns on the screen to see Bean gone. Annoyed, the dentist orders Bean to return to the seat so he can do the x-ray on him. In the x-ray, the dentist sees that Bean is missing a tooth and Bean removes the horn from his teeth gap. The dentist shows Bean teeth on a shelf to replace the fake tooth. Bean drinks the mouth rinse. While the dentist is checking for the right size, Bean starts playing with the chair. He presses a button, and the chair ascends. He then presses another button, sending the chair forward and Bean almost falls down. Bean then ascends the chair so high he can see the dentist behind the x-ray screen. He then uses a suction to clean his nose. And he uses the driller to drill holes on his belt. Bean hides the driller when the dentist calls him, finally finding a tooth with the correct size and Bean says yes. The dentist then pulls out a syringe, making Bean faint because he's scared of needles. When he wakes up, he sees that the tooth is now back in his mouth. When Bean goes home, the dentist gives him the horn.
That night, Bean glues the horn back to the triceratops but he notices the horn is in the wrong position. He tries to remove it first by removing with his fingers and, finally, his mouth. However, his tooth breaks and loosens, causing him to scream in pain and the birds to fly away once again. This would later give him another visit to the dentist.

- The second half of the episode was most likely based on Act Two of the live action episode The Trouble with Mr. Bean.
- The larger of the burglar duo appears in the waiting line, making this the only episode where he appears without the smaller burglar.
- This is the last episode to get the Reliant tipping over. Starting with the Season 4 episode Car Wars,the Reliant takes its revenge to Mr Bean’s Mini.
- The Reliant Regal's 9-note tune is not played when it appears.
