The robot is the forty-third episode of Season 4 of the Animated Series and the ninety-fifth episode overall.
Synopsis.[]
Mr. Bean is too lazy to clean his flat up, so he sends off for a robotic cleaning device. At first the machine does a great job – dusting, polishing and tidying. But when it accidentally hoovers up its own remote control, the robot goes crazy, smashing its way out of the flat and causing mayhem in the streets. Now Bean is desperated to stop the rampaging robot and stay out of trouble with the police.
Plot .[]
The episode starts at Mr. Bean's flat, in which his entire room is dirty and covered in cobwebs, making it look like it's really old. Mr. Bean looks apparently bored and appears to be waiting for something. When the doorbell rang, he immediately went downstairs. It turns out he is waiting for a delivery, which may have taken a very long time. Upon retrieving a big package from the delivery man and taking it to his room, he started unboxing whatever is inside. Inside the box, are robotic parts, a manual and a remote control. Upon assembling the pieces, it's revealed to be a really tall robot. Using the remote, in which he placed a battery, Bean activates the robot, which started vacuuming his apartment floor. Filled with excitement, Bean makes it on dusting mode, which caused the robot to begin dusting Teddy and Bean, which tickles the latter. Bean then makes the robot clean his apartment window, which it did.
Pleased, Bean decides to speed the progress up by making the robot go on super clean mode; however, this caused the robot to soon start causing trouble. When Bean tries to stop it, the robot's vacuum sucks the remote control in, which caused the robot to malfunction. Heading downstairs, the machine proceeded to kick the door down and was about to vacuum Scrapper when Mr. Bean saves him in the nick of time. (Jesus Mary!) As the cleaning robot began going on a cleaning rampage in the streets, it came across an old man whose glasses were then knocked off by the robot, which left the man blinded. When Mr. Bean came across him while chasing down the robot, he picks up the man's broken glasses and puts them back on his head while at the same time apologizing for the robot's actions before continuing on his way.
Meanwhile, the robot enters the park where it continued its rampage. It began vacuuming fallen leaves on the ground and even sucks in all the leaves from a tree. Coming across a dating couple, the robot sucks in the man's hair which left him with a shiny bald spot. Mr. Bean then came across the couple, apologizing for what happened. In an attempt to fix the mess up, he places a magazine on the man's head as a replacement for his hair before he continues pursuing the robot. The machine, returning to the streets, comes across a bus stop where a woman is reading a magazine. Snatching it from her hands, the robot proceeded to dust before putting it in its shredder. Coming across the woman after the robot left, Mr. Bean apologizes to her for what the robot did and attempts to fix the problem up by gathering up the shredded remains of her magazine and straightening them up, making it look like a bouquet before handing it over to the woman. As he continues pursuing the robot, he comes across a television shop, where the TVs inside are broadcasting the incident, with Mrs. Wicket and the same people whom Bean came across reporting of the robot's actions.
When the robot came across a row of cars, it began to uncontrollably clean their windows, though it didn't bother to wipe off the soap it left behind. Approaching another car, in which the driver's window was rolled open, the robot began cleaning him instead of the window leaving soap all over his face, much to the driver's annoyance. When Mr. Bean came across him, he, just like with all the other people he came across, immediately apologizes and explains the reasons behind the robot's behaviour; however, the driver didn't seem to buy it as he just glares at Mr. Bean. Though the latter rubbed off some of the soap on his face, this only annoys the driver. As the robot continues walking through the streets, it began to go out of control even more and it soon began crossing the road while uncontrollably spinning like a carousel, causing the Reliant Regal to swerve and crash into a mailbox. Meanwhile, at the police station, the police chief is receiving numerous phone calls on the out-of-control robot. Leading several policemen, he tried to stop the robot in its tracks to no avail.
Remembering the remote control is the only way to stop the robot, Bean, knowing what he has to do, immediately runs over to the robot, which was once again spinning out of control, forcing the police to take cover. Throwing himself on the robot, Bean opens a small compartment in the robot's body and accidentally pulls on a wire which caused the robot to spin even faster, while the policemen and the people watched in terror. Holding on for dear life, Bean rummaged through the compartment and successfully retrieves the remote. As the robot gets closer to the people, Mr. Bean was able to turn it off, which caused the people to erupt in cheers. Though Mr. Bean was proud of himself for having stopped the robot, he soon noticed the policemen and the people are now glaring at him, as they now know he is the owner of the robot.
Epilogue: When Bean tells them that he and the robot were just cleaning up, he was immediately forced by the police chief to clean up all the mess the robot left behind, Upon seeing the mess and the damage done to the city, Bean now knows he is in REALLY big trouble. He was then kept under strict observation as he cleans up the mess the robot caused, much to Bean's frustration.
