Plot
Mr. Bean looks at the window and sees Wicket leave for a holiday. Sally, a little girl who delivers the newspapers comes by and puts the newspaper in the letterbox. Bean goes down to collect the newspaper from the letterbox but it gets taken away. Confused, Bean looks outside to see nobody's there. The next day, Sally delivers the newspaper but it still gets taken away. Angry, Bean checks again outside to see that once again, nobody's there. The third day, Sally delivers the newspaper and, as usual, it gets taken away when Bean is about to get it. Bean checks outside and, like before, nobody's outside, making him scream in fury and making the birds fly away.
On the fourth day, Bean watches from the bushes and sees Sally deliver the newspaper. Bean is holding a net, ready to catch the thief and he sees someone going towards the door. Bean then catches the man using his net, believing him to be the thief. Bean realizes that the man he caught is actually a mailman. The angry mailman gives Bean the two letters and Bean apologizes for his actions earlier. Back in Bean's room, Bean thinks how to catch the thief and he spots his camera. Bean hides the camera in an overturned flower pot; there's a rope attached to the camera and a brick on the other side so the person can trigger the camera to capture them if they touch the rope. Bean pretends to be a thief trying to steal the newspaper and the camera flashes when Bean touches the rope. Bean is temporarily stunned but is happy that it worked.
Bean watches from his window, hoping to find the culprit. A bird grabs one of the three twigs holding the camera and the camera loses its balance. While Bean is waiting on the stairs the newspaper arrives at the letterbox; when Bean approaches the newspaper it gets taken away. Bean opens the door and no one's outside; he grabs the camera and goes inside his Mini and drives off. Bean returns to his room and gets shocked when he sees that the photo only shows the person's legs. But Bean decides to print wanted posters showing the person's feet hoping he can find the culprit. Bean places wanted posters in various areas of the park, including in front of a sign that reads No Posters. Back home, Bean is looking at the window hoping that someone can find the culprit. A boy holding the wanted poster rings the doorbell; Bean answers the door. The boy whispers to Bean's ears and now Bean has an idea. Bean and the boy return to the park and the boy points to Bean a man wearing red shoes. Bean confronts the man in which the boy asks Bean for his reward; so Bean gives him the reward. Bean approaches the man and asks him if he can talk to him. Bean explains to the man about his red shoes only to see a brunette boy wearing red shoes as well. To Bean's surprise, he sees that many people are wearing the same red shoes.
Bean returns outside his home and places a lamp, three ladders. It's afternoon and Bean pulls out a table from the house. Bean finishes his contraption at night, hoping that he can catch the culprit. Then Bean enters the window to go back inside and he goes outside through the door to test out the rope. On the fifth day, Sally delivers the newspaper and Bean takes the newspaper from her. Bean sees the footwear of Sally resembles the same red shoes from the photo so Bean accuses her for the thievery. Sally starts crying when Bean accused her for stealing. Bean, not wanting her to cry, gives her his handkerchief so she can use it to blow her nose. She gives Bean back his handkerchief. Sally shows Bean a squirrel taking the newspaper; Bean finally realizes that the true thieves are the squirrels who are using the newspaper as their food. Bean apologizes to Sally for accusing her and she leaves. When Bean returns home, he forgets the trap he had set up and when he touches the rope, the trap gets triggered and various furniture fall on him. On the sixth day, Bean is looking at his window and he picks up a catalogue from the bin. He puts it in the letterbox that the squirrel takes, just as the newspaper arrives. When Bean tries to grab it, it gets taken. Angry, Bean opens the door to confront the thief only to see Wicket outside. Angry at what Bean said, Wicket whacks him with the newspaper for calling her a thief. The squirrels listen to Wicket hitting Bean with the newspaper.
