Synopsis[]
On the shopping mall, Bean heads out to buy the toy model car similar to his Mini, but he, a mother and her kid, and a man in the suit, all end up getting stuck on the lift!
Plot[]
At Harlotts department store, Mr. Bean sees a miniature scale model of his Mini from outside. Bean wants to buy it and a boy also wants to buy it. Bean runs into the store. Both Bean and the boy approach the toy and they want to buy it. They head into the lift where a man chooses a picture for the ninth floor which shows a TV. But Bean cuts in front of the man and chooses the tenth floor where the teddy bear drawn looks like Teddy. The man is going to press the up button... but Bean stops him and lets the boy push the button. The lift doors open and Bean lets the three of them go in first. Bean and the boy are letting each other go first. The man and the boy's mother let the boy in just as the door closes; but luckily, Bean is able to get in before they fully close. Bean presses button number 10. Unfortunately, Teddy gets stuck in the door, causing the lift to break down and stop working.
The man wants to press a button number 9, but Bean stops him because he has to rescue Teddy. So the man decides to call for help, only to see there is no phone signal. Bean and the boy unsuccessfully pull Teddy out, so Bean tells the mother and the man to help him out. Outside the lift, a man looks at Teddy moving up and down, confusing him. They try to pull Teddy away, but they only pull his ears away. Bean talks into Teddy's ears, but he can't hear him because he may be unconscious. He opens the button panel, revealing a telephone inside. So Bean presses the emergency help button and explains to the operator that they are stuck in the lift.
Time flies by, but nothing happens. So Bean decides to play the game of I spy, but the man stops him. Bean decides to sing the children's song, called "If you're happy and you know it", but stops when no one is entertained. Bean presses the green button and the lights go out, annoying the man and the mother. Bean presses another "button" but he only presses the man. Angrily, the man presses Bean's eye as revenge. He turns on the torch of his phone and presses the same button, and the lights turn on. Bean presses the yellow button and the alarm makes a loud noise. The mother tells Bean to turn it off, but Bean can't hear her because of the loud noise. The alarm turns itself off after a few seconds, so Bean gets annoyed when she shouts at him. The man points at the hatch above Mr. Bean, to which Mr. Bean tells him to jup in. But the man tells him to do it. The latter says the boy can fit, but his mother stops him because it is too dangerous. Annoyed, Bean exits the hatch himself, hitting the man twice by accident in the process. Now on top of the lift cabin, Bean sees the other two lifts going up in the shaft.
Mr. Bean is climbing the ladder just as the firemen arrive. They forcefully open the door with a crowbar and rescue Teddy, and the lift starts working again. As Bean climbs the ladder, he is relieved that the lift is working again, only to realize the lift car is moving up towards him so he climbs faster. Bean jumps onto the lift carriage, only to realize he is going to hit the ceiling. Luckily, the lift stops at the ninth floor and the three people exit the lift safely. Bean is relieved that the lift stopped moving... but it suddenly starts again. So Bean jumps onto the third lift that goes down to the ninth floor before he gets crushed. The mother and son arrive at the tenth floor via the stairs and approach the toy Minis, only to realize they are sold out, making the boy. sad as punishment His mother asks him if he wants a blue stuffed toy, but he doesn't want it. Back at the shaft, Bean is still jumping from one lift car to another, trying not to get crushed. This time, the middle lift goes up and the two lift carriages between it are at the tenth floor.
Mr. Bean uses his screwdriver to open the hatch and jump inside the lift before he kills himself again, shocking the people inside it. Bean exits the lift, but the people simply close the door, still shocked at Bean. He pretends he's driving his Mini to the boy, but the boy is still sad. Bean runs to the toy Mini shelf, but realizes they were sold out. Bean has an idea, so he goes to the mother and son only, to realize they are gone, so he enters the lift again to go to the ground floor. Bean exits the lift just as the mother and son arrive. Bean buys the last toy Mini that costs £10. The boy cries and the firemen give Teddy to him, thinking he owns Teddy. Bean sees how sad the boy is, so he decides to swap his toy Mini with Teddy. The boy is now happy with his new toy and they leave. Bean tells Teddy they're going home, but Teddy can't "hear" Bean because his ears have been cut off earlier, so Bean puts one of Teddy's ears to where it should be and tells Teddy they're going home.
