Superhero Bean is the 41th episode of Season 4 and 93rd episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean decided to dress up as a Superhero to defeat the thief down.
Plot[]
The episode starts at night where Scrapper knocks Wicket's room to let him in. But Wicket is busy watching a wrestling match, so she can't hear him. Bean is reading a superhero comic while under his blanket; he eats marshmallows. He is now sleepy, so he goes to sleep. Downstairs, Wicket also sleeps and her loud snoring prevents Bean from sleeping so he covers his ears with marshmallows by using them as noise cancellation plugs and goes to back to sleep. Suddenly, a burglar is running on the roof and sneaks through an open window to steal something. Then he sneaks to Bean's window and sees Bean asleep, so he steals Bean's wallet and exits through the window and goes to Wicket's flat. The burglar steals Wicket's things, but not the goldfish; he leaves Wicket's room and he accidentally steps on Scrapper, waking him up and making him snarl at him. Wicket wakes up and goes outside and screams; "Aaaah!! The Thief!! Intruder!!"; when she sees the burglar. She calls police for help because there's an intruder. The burglar runs away and climbs atop a tree and then to a roof to escape them.
McDim arrives and Wicket asks him where the burglar went, to which he doesn't know, much to Wicket's annoyance. Bean goes outside his room and eats the marshmallows that he put in his ears. As Bean goes downstairs, he sees a police line, confusing him, so he goes to Wicket's room. Inside Wicket's room, the two policemen are showing Wicket a few wanted posters, asking her if he's the culprit, to which she says ''no''. When the police shows her the third poster, she says he's the culprit. Bean comes back to his room and sees his wallet is gone. While Bean is panicking, he holds the comic book, so he decides to make a a costume and become a superhero to deal with the burglar.
Bean opens his cabinet and gets underwear, a can of sardines, an umbrella, a table cloth and a pingpong set. Bean cuts the sleeping mask to make his own mask. Bean makes a customized costume, ready to catch the thief. He is on the streets, looking for the burglar. Bean spots an elderly lady trying to call her cat so it can go down from the tree. The elderly lady tells Bean her cat, Tiddles, is stuck on the tree. So Bean rescues Tiddles by tying the can of sardines and flinging it to the tree to lure Tiddles. Bean pulls the rope and Tiddles lands on his cape, freeing him. He gives Tiddles back to its owner. Later, the stoplight is malfunctioning and there's a large traffic jam so Bean decides to be a traffic aide and uses the red and green pingpong rackets to guide the traffic. Later, a lady is carrying her groceries when the weight of the groceries rips the bottom part of her bag. Bean uses his underwear as an improvised bag for the lady. Later, Bean is in the news and the mother and son congratulate Bean for his superhero work with a well done. An elderly man then shows Bean the newspaper showing the burglar, asking Bean if he has seen him. Bean tells the elderly man he's after him.
The elderly man then spots the burglar on top of the roof. So Bean climbs the ladder to pursue the burglar; when Bean arrives on the roof, he is tired. Bean confronts the burglar who runs away, so Bean pursues him... but he's too fast and agile. The satellite breaks down after Bean grabs it, but luckily, he lands on the other roof and he resumes pursuing the thief. Bean climbs the wall using the pipe ,but the pipe falls down and Bean lands on the exhaust fan. Bean opens his umbrella so the fan can blow him upwards and on the wall. While Bean is searching for the thief, the thief appears holding a metal bar. Realizing the thief has a deadly weapon, Bean flees from him and hides behind the chimney. Bean puts his cape on the exhaust fan to fool the thief. The thief jumps on the exhaust fan, thinking it's Bean, hurting his nose. Bean then reveals himself and holds a bottle of shampoo. When the thief charges at Bean, he sprays shampoo on the floor, causing the thief to slip and hit the exhaust fan again. The sack containing the stolen items falls from the roof and to the ground; the people are happy they have their things back. The thief is stunned and Bean ties him to the exhaust fan, defeating him. Bean goes down from the building and gets back his wallet back. The next day, Sally delivers newspaper to Bean's house. Wicket retrieves the paper and the paper shows Bean is a hero and the thief was arrested. She sees that her things are back and there's a card from Bean and Wicket is happy. Wicket looks out the window and she sees Bean hanging his clothes he used as a hero. She is shocked to realize it was Bean who defeated the thief.
