Scout Bean is the 16th episode of Season 2 and 68th episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. It was first broadcast on September 4, 2015 on CITV, along with "Viral Bean", "Super Spy", "Back to School" and "Lord Bean".
This episode has two official uploads on YouTube, both on official channel and Mr. Bean World channel. Both uploads masses of 1 million views in total with the first upload being the highest viewed.
Synopsis[]
When Mr. Bean heads out of the house to do his laundry, he ends up being the scout leader for the day with Irma, to teach 3 young boys all the fun stuff in the woods, and for the merit badges too!
Plot[]
Mr. Bean puts his blanket, his pillow case, and his tablecloth in his laundry bag. Bean then puts the laundry bag in the trunk of his Mini just as he leaves for the laundromat. Meanwhile, Irma's scoutmaster is putting the camping equipment in their van just as Bean overtakes the Reliant and parks his Mini. The Reliant swerves and hits the van, causing it to move and crushing the scoutmaster's foot, injuring him. The Reliant then drives off just as Irma shows Bean the damaged van. Irma and her scoutmaster tell Bean that he can be the substitute scoutmaster which Bean declines. But Irma's scoutmaster gives Bean his yellow ribbon because he's too injured to work; Bean decides to be the substitute. Irma's scoutmaster stays with the van just as Bean opens his Mini for the three children. Bean tells the children to put the camping gear in his Mini. Then he tells the kids to help the elderly lady walk the street which they don't understand. So Bean, annoyed, does it himself while he stops Bill Durr so the elderly lady can pass. Irma rewards Bean with a badge for helping the elderly lady cross the street; though the elderly lady crosses the street again to return to the other side. Bean then ties the camping gear on the roof of his Mini. Irma then rewards Bean with a second badge for tying the rope. The two children then show Bean the third child is stuck in the back of his Mini.
The group arrives at the Big Bears Scout Camp; they look around the area. When they stop at a clearing, they set up their camp. Bean removes his laundry bag. Irma checks the tents of the children and sees Bean's tent made out of his laundry. He shows them Teddy and a radio playing music. Bean asks for a badge from Irma, which she gives him one for building a tent. Irma then tells the kids through the megaphone that they should find a way to cross the river. The children plan on making a raft. Bean then looks at an outhouse. The kids return with a raft they made. One kid blows an inflatable balloon and puts the raft on it then they put it on the water. Bean then uses the outhouse doors as a raft to cross the river. The children's inflatable balloon sinks in the water. Bean asks for a badge from Irma, while the kids are wet and angry at Bean. Irma, annoyed, gives Bean a badge for building a raft. The children groan.
That night, the children are rubbing two firewoods together to make campfire but nothing happens. Bean the lights a match and finishes making his campfire and he smells his food. The children groan in annoyance at Bean. When Bean puts his soup in his bowl, the kids rub their firewoods faster. When Bean calls it a night, the children give up making a campfire and one of the eats a carrot. When everybody's asleep, the three of them formulate a plan to scare Bean. They get the bear statue and uses the firewood to make bear footprints while Bean is sleeping. The children say roar through the megaphone, waking Bean up. Bean lets Teddy look at the area and he sees bear footprints on the ground, scaring him. The children then use the bear statue to scare Bean into thinking there's really a bear. Bean wakes Irma up and tells her there's a bear. Irma pulls out a flashlight and sees that it's just the mascot. Irma and the children all laugh at Bean. The next day, Bean is cooking breakfast and talks through the megaphone that breakfast is ready. Bean shows them the breakfast, which are scrambled eggs, sausages, and bacons. Then he asks for a sixth badge just as Irma and the kids laugh.
