Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean climbs into his favourite tree to stop it from being chopped down.
Plot[]
Bees are pollinating flowers in the park. Bean is walking around the park looking for something. Irma comes by and wants to kiss Bean when Bean sees the tree so he goes there. Irma gets annoyed when Bean leaves. Bean hugs the tree and there's a carving of a heart and Bean and Teddy are there. He suddenly gets hungry so he asks Irma if she wants a sandwich. Irma says yes and Bean says there's a cafe over there, annoying her. He asks Irma if she wants to get food which she angrily does. Bean can have peace at last when he hears hammering noises. He sees a man putting up a fence because he'll chop the tree. Bean doesn't want him to chop the tree but he tells Bean it's coming down so he lets Bean leave and go after the safety tape. The logger gets his chainsaw so Bean tries to stop him but he slips when he goes through the tape, causing him to fall to the ground. The man tries to remove Bean but he slips so Bean frees himself and climbs the tree so the logger can't chop it. Bean is tree protesting and mocks the logger because he can't get him. So the logger jumps to the branch to grab Bean so Bean climbs higher to avoid the logger; he isn't leaving the tree. If the logger wants the tree down he has to get Bean down. The logger goes to the branch again but it snaps. Bean goes further and tells the logger he'll have to try harder.
The logger brings a bulldozer and goes to the lift that he ascends to get Bean off the tree. So Bean shakes the tree branch causing the chestnuts to land on him, forcing him to descend the lift. The logger sees the cleaner keep a hose so he uses it to get Bean off the tree. He sprays Bean with the hose, causing him to hang upside down using only his legs to stay on the branch. The logger continues spraying Bean forcing Bean to flee and take cover. Bean calls Irma for help, who is outside the closed cafe. She sees the logger spraying Bean using the hose to get him off the tree. Suddenly the water runs out, confusing the logger, because Irma is stepping on the hose. She lets go of the hose, causing a torrent of water to hit the logger's eye. Irma tells the logger to stop hurting Bean; Bean tells Irma he's trying to cut the tree down. Irma tells Bean they won't let him and climbs the tree but she can't so the logger grabs her. Bean tells the logger to leave Irma alone but he's hungry so he asks Irma if she has the sandwich. Irma says the cafe is shut and the logger escorts her out behind the line. The logger brings his lunch box and opens it to lure Bean down. Irma tells Bean not to do it but he's hungry. Bean climbs higher and he sees a kite he can use to get the food; he ties his pen on the kite so he can fish the lunchbox. Irma gasps and coughs to distract the logger who gives her water. Bean uses the pen to hook the lunchbox; when Irma sees it she says she's much better now. The logger notices Bean fished the lunchbox and eats the food, angering him because he realizes she tricked him.
Bean finishes the sandwiches and drinks the tea. He eats a banana and he enjoys the view. Bean sees the logger measuring the width of the tree so he drops the banana peel in his behind; Bean sarcastically apologizes to him; Irma laughs as well. The logger gets the banana peel and Bean drops the lunchbox on his hard hat. The logger, finally having had enough, calls police. But Bean is undeterred and vows he's going nowhere. The logger happily reads the newspaper, happy that the police will surely put Bean down. Bean needs to go to the restroom but he can't go down or the logger will chop the tree. He sees a squirrel going to the end of the branch that descends it and it goes to the ground. Bean makes a fake replica of himself using a yellow ball and he quietly goes to the end of the branch so the logger doesn't spot him. Bean goes down and goes to the outhouse. The police arrives and the logger tells them Bean's up there. The chief uses his megaphone to tell Bean to go down. A bird grabs a leaf and the ball falls down, shocking the woman. Confused, she asks if the ball is Bean; then the clothes fall down. Since Bean's gone, the logger can finally cut the tree down when they hear a flush. Bean exits the outhouse and the four of them all glare at him. He tries to return to the tree but Bobby McDim stops him. The woman tells Bean they're building a new cafe. Bean is now happy when he realizes he can have a new place to eat lunch. He takes the clipboard and draws a tree there which the woman says it's wonderful. So they stop the logger from chopping the tree; Bean uses the chief's megaphone to tell the logger to stop cutting down the tree and slowly put down the chainsaw, thinking the chief said that. He gets angry when he realizes it was Bean who told him that. The woman shows him the clipboard that Bean modified, which he likes it so he stops cutting the tree down. And the new cafe is opened with the tree still intact. Bean and Irma go to the new cafe and they give Teddy and Lottie their own seats. The waitress serves them their sandwich and tea on the house, as always.
