The Parrot is a minor character in the animated series, only appearing in the episode "No Pets". It is the second among the three pets Mr. Bean bought in the pet store.
Biography[]
After taking back the dog to the pet store due to Mrs. Wicket forcing him to take it back (as pets are banned by her), Mr. Bean notices a parrot in the store and likes to have it. Upon taking it home, Mr. Bean hid the parrot from Mrs. Wicket and tried to spend time with it. Mr. Bean tries to make the parrot say "Hello" by saying the word, but the latter doesn't do it. Bean tries to use a megaphone, but to no avail. After that, Mr. Bean tries to hide the parrot upon hearing Mrs. Wicket about to go to his room. Mrs. Wicket enters and sees Mr. Bean appearing to be eating a cooked bird, eventually getting fooled by the trick. It turns out that the bird is the parrot with its feathers stripped off. When Mrs. Wicket leaves, Mr. Bean glues the feathers back on the parrot and then hears someone ring his doorbell, as he ordered a bird cage. Upon hearing the sound of the doorbell, the parrot imitates it, which surprises Bean. Eager to make the bird say "Hello", he used a tape recorder to record himself saying "Hello" and then sets a tape player to loop play the recording and proceeded to leave the parrot overnight near the player. The next day, the parrot is not only sleep-deprived, but also dazed to the point of being immobile. bean tries to help it out, but to no avail. Assuming the parrot's dead, Bean then tries to flush the parrot down the toilet, but the sight and sound of the toilet awakens the parrot and frightens it. Bean then tries to say "Hello" and tries listening to the parrot (looking away as he does it), but the parrot only does the doorbell sound again. Mr. Bean mistakes it as the actual doorbell, but then realizes too late that it's the parrot that did it, and even expresses frustration as the bird flies away from his home, even trying to get away from him when Bean tries to chase him (possibly scared of Bean because he saw Bean trying to flush him down the toilet, assuming Bean was trying to kill him). In the end, the parrot finds its way back in the pet store and is never seen again, and Bean stops trying to look for it upon seeing a chameleon, choosing to have that one as a pet instead.
Appearance[]
The parrot has yellow and lime green feathers (with orange around its eyes) and a blue beak. For a brief moment (after Mr. Bean tries putting its feather back on), the parrot appears puffy before Bean straightens its feathers.
Personality[]
When first introduced, the parrot was emotionless and unsure what to think about Bean, even unsure of why he has some natural problems with his relationship with Teddy. Upon being taken home, the parrot remains emotionless until Mr. Bean uses a megaphone on him, which does hurt him a bit. When Mr. Bean tries disguising him as a cooked bird by removing its feathers (to prevent Mrs. Wicket from finding out he bought a new pet), the parrot was briefly angered and confused to why Bean did that. Eventually, the parrot does seemingly become scared of Bean when the latter tried flushing him into the toilet, when Bean thought it was dead. It's also possible that the other times Bean unintentionally mistreated the parrot partially affected its opinion on him.
