Mime Games is the 7th episode of Season 1 of the Animated Series.
Synopsis
The Battle of the Mimes.
Plot
The episode starts with Bean walking in Grassy Park when he sees a group of people looking at a silver statue. Curious, he joins in. When the girl puts a coin in the coin box, Bean asks the bystanders how the statue works but they all ignore him because they are amused when the statue moves (as it was actually a street performer painted to look like a statue). The old man puts his coin in the box and the man tells Bean to look at the performer who salutes to the old man. Bean finally understands how it works but he has no money so statue does not move. Bean then finds other ways to make the performer move such as poking it with his finger but, of course, it does not work. Next he tickles the foot, which the performer tries to hold his laughter but Bean doesn't notice it. Then he uses the arrow to poke the performer in the butt which hurts him but he still doesn't notice it. A beautiful lady puts her coin in the box and the performer does a flying kiss to her, amusing her. Bean decides to let Teddy dance so the lady can pay him. Bean pays the performer but he does not move as revenge on Bean for assaulting him earlier. Annoyed, Bean leaves. The performer then dances once Bean is gone.
Somewhere in the park, a mime copies the old man's movement and he pays him. The mime sees Bean and performs for him but Bean ignores him. The mime performs again in front of Bean then acts like a dog and gives him an imaginary ball. Bean throws the ball and the mime fetches it. Bean tries to leave but the mime asks him for the money but he shows the mime that he has no money. Undeterred, the mime follows Bean, still asking for the money even though Bean shows him that he has no money. Bean plays fetch with the mime again and flees from him. When Bean opens his Mini, the mime sneaks to the back when he's not looking.
Bean heads home, with the mime following him. Scrapper snarls at the mime but Bean doesn't notice him. The mime scares Scrapper by making a funny face, causing him to jump in terror and land on the fountain statue, shattering it. Wicket screams in rage when her statue is broken and her cat is now wet. Bean runs to his room in which the mime pranks him by knocking the door. Mr. Bean gets shocked when he sees the mime is in his room, the mime runs to the kitchen and wants to play fetch with Bean using an apple. Angry, Bean tells the mime to get out of his room. The mime does so but the mime opens several imaginary doors while Bean is still waiting. The last imaginary door is locked but Bean is not amused so the mime stops acting and goes straight to the door but he pretends he doesn't know how to open it, annoying Bean further. So Bean opens the door for the mime and tells him again to leave. But the mime begs for Bean to let him stay because he's hungry. Bean seemingly has a change of heart and lets the mime stay to eat.
At the table, Bean makes a big sandwich for himself, a small sandwich for Teddy but none for the mime. Bean eats his sandwich and whispers to Teddy if he wants to eat his sandwich which Bean shakes Teddy's head. Bean takes Teddy's sandwich for himself so the mime whispers to Teddy if he can have his sandwich which the mime nods Teddy's head. So Bean gives Teddy's sandwich to the mime but Bean pounds the plate sending the sandwich to his mouth which he eats it. The mime begs Bean to give him real food because he's hungry. Bean goes back to the kitchen and brings out an imaginary cart and gives the annoyed mime imaginary food. The annoyed mime "eats" the imaginary food while Bean watches TV. The mime then goes to the kitchen to cook food but Bean grabs him with an imaginary rope. Later, Bean and the mime are back at the park where the mime watches in sadness when he sees two kids tickling the performer who is trying not to laugh. Bean frees the mime and then brings out the imaginary ball once again. He throws it to the pond where the mime falls in. The mime starts crying when he sees his makeup gone. With the mime defeated, Bean takes the performer home to replace the destroyed fountain statue.
At night, Wicket is happy that Bean put a new statue as replacement for the previous statue. Bean uses his binoculars to look at the performer shivering from the cold night and the predicament he is currently in, to his amusement, then the episode ends.
