Jumping Bean is the 21st episode of Season 5 and 125th episode overall of the Animated Series.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean wants to learn skateboarding but is he up to the challenge of being a skateboarder, but in the process, he ends up breaking his leg! The only thing suitable for him to perform stunts is Miss Wince's new mobility scooter.
Plot[]
The episode starts at a library where Bean exits it while carrying lots of books. He almost loses his balance when he goes down the stairs, nearly falling on two people in the process; fortunately he maintains his balance and goes home. Bean is on his way home, when he hits shelves scattered on the ground to resemble a ramp, causing him to drop the books. He then sees a makeshift skating ramp made by Bruiser Sr. and Bruiser Jr. Bruiser Jr. skates on the ramp and jumps over Bean. Fascinated, Bean asks Bruiser Jr. if he can have a go. The Bruisers laugh at him, with Bruiser Jr. asking Bean where's his board to which Bean says he got one. So he goes home to draw a sketch of a skateboard. Bean sees a nearby cart that he can use to make a skateboard so he takes it, which causes some of the contents to fall off.
In the shed, Bean is constructing his new skateboard. Outside, Bruiser Jr. is skateboarding and Bean shows them the skateboard he made to which both Bruisers laugh at him. They're off to the skate park. Bean says he can skateboard and he steps on the side of the skateboard, causing it to rise up and hit his nose. Bean then accidentally steps on the skateboard, causing him to fall on his back, break the skateboard, and injure himself. Later, Bean arrives home from the hospital and he has crutches from his injury. Bean goes home and he nearly slips while walking. Miss Wince arrives while driving her scooter. She honks her scooter and Wicket answers the door. Wicket says Miss Wince has a nice scooter; Miss Wince tries to get up but she can't so Bean puts the wooden boards of his broken skateboard on the stairs as a ramp for Miss Wince to go up. She successfully enters the house and they both enter Wicket's room. Miss Wince charges her electric scooter. Bean asks them if he can borrow Miss Wince's scooter to which Wicket says hands off to him. Wicket turns on the TV to show a five hour wrestling. While Wicket and Miss Wince are busy watching the wrestling, Bean uses this as an opportunity to drive Miss Wince's scooter and take it, unplugging it in the process.
Bean drives outside his house and drives over the ramp but the scooter has run out of battery and it falls to the ground. So Bean takes a jump starter from the trunk of his Mini to charge Miss Wince's scooter. Bean drives over the ramps and is amazed. He then goes to the park. At the park, Bruiser Sr. and Bruiser Jr. push the other kids away so Bruiser Jr. can skate on the ramp. Bean drives Miss Wince's scooter on his way to the park. Bean crosses the street and the Reliant swerves to avoid him, loses control, and hits something. Three poodles bark at Bean. Bean arrives at the park. He arrives at the skating ramp and the Bruisers laugh at Bean. Bean lets Bruiser Jr. go first. It's Bean's turn and he gulps then he starts skating on the ramp but he drives at full speed. Bruiser Jr. skates around cones which Bean does the same. Bruiser Jr. skates over a gap and does a circular jump which Bean also jumps over the gap. The continue skating over another ramp. At the end of the ramp, Bruiser Sr. has just arrived, tired while the other kids are already there. Bean and Bruiser Jr. skate to the end of the ramp. The three kids applaud at Bean while the Bruisers look at Bean in scorn.
Bruiser Jr. then asks Bean if he can do the Jump of Doom which scares the other kids. Bean says bring it on, wanting to do the challenge. He gets scared when he sees how large the Jump of Doom is but he says it's no problem. Bean tries to get in the zone and Bruiser Sr. removes the red cable from the jump starter. He is about to start when the battery runs out. Bruiser Sr. kicks Bean off the ramp and he lands on the bottom part. Bean sees that the red cable is gone because Bruiser Sr. removed it earlier. They all laugh at Bean. While Bruiser Sr. is laughing, he unknowingly steps on his son's skateboard, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ramp. He and the skateboard crash on the forest nearby. Bruiser Sr. says he needs to go to the hospital because he's injured. Bean says he can take Bruiser Sr. to the hospital himself if he hadn't removed the red cable so Bruiser Sr. gives Bean back the red cable. Bean takes Bruiser Sr. to the hospital with him on the basket and Bruiser Jr. behind them. Bean sees the hospital is just up ahead. They cross the street where Bean encounters the same man walking his three poodles. Bean drives through a queue, telling them to move because it's an emergency. While Bruiser Sr. mimics the siren wailing as an ambulance when holding Teddy,they arrive at the hospital and Bean tells the doctor he has a patient for him. Bruiser Sr. thanks Bean for taking him to the hospital. Bean returns home where Wicket and Miss Wince are still watching the wrestling show. Wicket, who is completely unaware that Bean took Miss Wince's scooter, tells Bean not to touch Miss Wince's scooter. Bean tells Wicket his jump starter is still on the scooter which Wicket tells him out. Bean goes outside when Miss Wince starts her scooter whose battery is now full because Bean's jump starter is still connected to it. Miss Wince's scooter runs at full speed and she breaks through the door and she skates over the ramp made by the Bruisers. Bean flees from the furious Wicket.
