Ice Cream is the 44th episode of Season 2 and 96th episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. It originally aired over CITV on February 26, 2016.
This episode has two official uploads on YouTube, both on official channel and Mr. Bean World channel. Both uploads masses of 30.5 million views in total with the first upload being the highest viewed.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean wants an ice cream cone from the ice cream van but ends up serving himself along with every kid in town.
Plot[]
Mr. Bean walks down the park where he feels hot. Luckily, he sees an ice cream van where he rudely goes in front of the kid to buy the ice cream first. The ice cream man asks who's first, to which Bean says HE is first. Bean takes time to make his mind up and chooses the ice cream with strawberry syrup and a chocolate bar on top of it. The ice cream man makes the ice cream and Bean takes it when the ice cream man stops him because he has to pay first. Bean realizes he forgot to take his wallet, so he tells the ice cream man he'll take the ice cream and pay later... but the ice cream man says Bean can't do it, so the boy buys the ice cream that is supposed to be Bean's. Bean complains because the ice cream was HIS, so he leaves and he'll be right back.
Bean runs home to get his wallet, where Wicket and Scrapper look at Bean confused. He then returns to the park, where, unfortunately, there is now a long queue of kids. Bean goes straight to the ice cream man, telling him he now has his wallet, but he tells Bean to wait for his turn and go to the back of the line. Annoyed, Bean reluctantly goes to the back of the line. Bean impatiently waits for his turn, and when his turn comes, the ice cream man leaves for lunch, making Bean frustrated. (laughter) Not wanting to wait, Bean opens the window to reach the ice cream, but he can't, so he enters the van while the ice cream man isn't looking. Bean then makes ice cream for himself and pays.
A child then orders ice cream, thinking Bean is the ice cream man. Bean tells the child he's not the ice cream man, but the child starts crying, so Bean gives the child his ice cream and the child pays him. Bean then makes another ice cream for himself, when another kid orders ice cream. Outside, there is now a queue and Bean gives his second ice cream to the kid. More and more children buy ice cream from Bean. After the last kid orders his ice cream, Bean makes ice cream for himself, but the ice cream machine is now empty. To make matters worse, the ice cream man's lunch break is over, so Bean tries to leave, but the door is locked. Bean hides in one of the empty boxes. The ice cream man notices the ice cream machine is empty, so he drives away to the ice cream factory to fill the machine up again. He takes the tank out of the machine and goes inside the factory.
Bean comes out of the box and he sees a variety of ice cream. The ice cream man comes back, so Bean hides inside the box again. He puts the tank back to the machine and it's full again. The ice cream man notices there's only 1 chocolate bar left, so he leaves to get some more. Bean can now make his own ice cream when the ice cream man comes back and sees him. Bean and chase after him tries to escape from the window and squirts strawberry syrup at the ice cream man before fleeing; he adds a little bit more strawberry syrup on his ice cream briefly. The ice cream man wipes off the syrup and looks for Bean when a melted ice cream drips on his nose. Bean is revealed to be on top of the van and his ice cream is melting. Bean slides through the cone of the ice cream from the top of the van to the ground; he flees from the ice cream man. Bean hides behind the trash cans in the alleyway but the ice cream man knows he's hiding there because the trail of melted ice cream leads there. Bean makes a run for it when the ice cream man opens a trash can. They are now at the park, and the ice cream man is now tired, so he gives up, chasing Bean.
Bean returns home, happy he lost the ice cream man only to realize his ice cream melted completely. The ice cream man returns to his van and sees extra cash in his cash register. He realizes that Bean helped him earn more money while he was on break so he traces Bean via the trail of melted ice cream he made during their chase. Bean cleans the melted ice cream from his floor when he hears the ice cream van, scaring him because he thinks the ice cream man still wants his revenge on him. He sees Irma buy ice cream and she points at him so Bean decides to hide, scared that the ice cream man is now looking for him. The ice cream man gives Irma two ice creams and he tells her to give Bean the second ice cream as thank you for helping him earn more money during his break. Irma greets Wicket who is cutting the bushes with a grass cutter shears. Irma goes inside and knocks Bean's door but Bean doesn't answer because he thinks it's the ice cream man; he wants the ice cream man to go away. When Bean doesn't answer, Irma leaves, much to Bean's relief. Bean looks out the window and he sees Irma give Wicket the second ice cream that is originally for Bean. He realizes it was Irma who knocked his door earlier so he opens the window and asks Irma if the ice cream she gave Wicket was for him. Irma explains to Bean the ice cream man wanted to thank him for helping, much to Bean's surprise. The ice cream van drives away and Bean runs behind it, asking if he can have his ice cream.
