Halloween is the 35th episode of Season 4 of the Animated Series and the 87th episode overall.

Synopsis.[]

Mr. Bean prepares to give the neighbourhood kids some tricks and treats they will not forget, but gets carried away with his spooky jokes and becomes the target of even more fiendish tricks by his neighbours, the Bruisers.

Plot.[]

The episode starts outside Bean's flat, where two children (one is wearing a ghost and one is wearing a witch costume) are walking along the pavement. Bean looks at his calendar and he's happy because today is Halloween. Downstairs, Wicket is mixing cake dough and then looks at the recipe book where the ingredients for the cake are eggs, milk and flour. She opens her pantry and sees there is no flour. Upstairs, Bean is revealed to have taken Wicket's flour to use for his vampire custome. Bean goes to his bedroom and scares Teddy... but nothing happens because he's just a stuffed toy. Back in the kitchen, Bean cuts a piece of the turnip to make vampire teeth. Bean goes back to his bedroom and tries to scare Teddy again, but of course nothing happens because Teddy isn't alive at all. Bean tries to bite Teddy as a joke. While Wicket is at the window, Bean sneaks from the outside and tries to scare her, but she isn't scared, making Bean disappointed. Scrapper goes to the window, so Bean scares him. He's happy he was able to scare someone. Back upstairs, Bean puts an apple on a stick and dips it in caramel. Then he cuts the pumpkin to make a jack-o-lantern and places it on the window. Bean sits near the door, bored while waiting for visitors. Just then, the doorbell rings and Bean answers to two children (one is wearing a Frankenstein's monster costume and one is wearing a skeleton costume) who say "Trick or treat". Bean puts ketchup in his mouth to resemble blood, but the children cry. He then removes the ketchup and the teeth to stop the two boys from crying. Bean then gives them the toffee apples... but they're stuck and the children fall to the ground, making them cry again and they run away.

Bruiser Jr., who is wearing a devil costume, watches Bean's predicament and snickers because he'll have some fun tonight. He goes outside and grabs a rake. Back in Bean's kitchen, he puts toffee apples in flower pots just as the doorbell rings again. Bean goes outside and sees nobody there, so he goes down the stairs and gets hit in the face with the rake with a punch attached to its rear; Bruiser Junior laughs at him. Angry, Bean pursues Bruiser Junior... but he steps on the rake again and it hits him in the face. Bean decides to fight back against Bruiser Junior. In his kitchen, Bean puts candies in the bowl and puts a trail of them from outside his home to the Bruisers' home; Bean rings the doorbell and hides just as Bruiser Junior opens the door. He sees the trail of candies and he picks them up until he reaches outside of Bean's home. Bean then drops the jack-o-lantern on Bruiser Jr., making it stuck on his head. With the pumpkin stuck on his head, Bruiser Jr. barely tries to walk. Satisfied, Bean goes back inside. Bruiser Senior is watching TV when his son blocks the TV asking for help, briefly shocking his father. Bruiser Senior frees his son from the pumpkin. His son tells him he's from next door. Bruiser Senior then empties a metal barrel filled with wet earth and places it in the catapult. Bruiser Jr. jumps on the other end of the catapult and the earth is flung to Bean's window. Bean opens the window and the earth now gets flung at his face; Bruiser Senior and Junior laugh at Bean and run away.

Bean then has another idea. At night, he goes to the shed and he finds a sack of fertilizer he can use against the Bruisers. Bean places the fertilizer on three chairs and shoots an arrow to the doorbell, ringing it. Bruiser Senior answers the door and Bean hits the first chair with a shovel, causing the fertilizer to fly onto Bruiser Senior's face. Bean then hits the second chair, causing the fertilizer to fly now onto Bruiser Junior's face. And finally, Bean hits the third chair, causing the fertilizer to fly onto the two Bruisers' faces. Bean then runs away while the two angry Bruisers pursue him. He runs behind his house, where it is revealed he set up a trap for them. Bean goes over the rope and accidentally hits the cloth, cauising him to fall into the nearby bushes. The Bruisers' feet get tangled on the rope, causing three sacks of fertilizer to fall and a safety cone to be flung, sending them flying into the air. Wicket is watching TV when she hears noises outside. The Bruisers sit on the broom dangling on the tree branch and a safety cone lands on Bruiser Senior's head, making them resemble witches. Wicket goes outside to investigate and she shouts when she sees the two Bruisers dangling on the tree because they resemble witches. Bean then comes out of the bushes moaning, with the cloth still stuck on him, making him resemble a ghost, scaring Wicket as well. Wicket faints and Bean reveals himself, happy that his scare was a success. Wicket wakes up, angry at the three of them. In Bean's room, she lets the two Bruisers sign the agreement and Bean laughs. But Wicket says they all should sign and Bruiser Senior laughs this time, so Bean reluctantly signs. After the agreement is signed, Wicket says no more nonsense. Defeated, Bean eats a toffee apple and Wicket tells him to give the Bruisers a toffee apple. Bean then reluctantly returns to his kitchen to make toffee apple. (laughter) But Bean decides to dip onions, not apples, in caramel as a joke. Back in Bean's bedroom, he gives the two Bruisers a toffee onion which they think is a toffee apple, so they bite it, but they spit it out because it tastes badly. While Bean says his toffee apple is delicious and eats it.
