Haircut is the 9th episode of Season 2 of the Animated Series.
Synopsis[]
After being assigned to be on the newspaper photo, Mr. Bean tries to get a haircut for himself, only to end up becoming bald!
Plot[]
It's a windy day and a gust of wind blows a leaf to Mr. Bean's nose, waking him up. Bean sees a woman's kitten stuck on a tree as a fireman tries to rescue it; Bean isn't interested in rescuing the kitten. The fireman grabs the kitten but it moves farther away from him, causing the branch to sway from the wind due to the kitten's weight. The kitten lands on Bean's hands, saving it. The woman is happy that Bean saved her kitten and the fireman goes down the tree. Bean gives the woman back her kitten then she kisses her pet and Bean, painting his face with several lipstick marks. Inside his bathroom, Bean wipes off the lipstick marks from his face. Then the doorbell rings so he answers it. The woman is back and she has hired a photographer. The photographer shows Bean his card, showing that he works for the press. The woman tries to fix Bean's messy hair but he stops her and goes back inside. Bean happily imagines himself inside the newspaper carrying the woman. Inside his bathroom, Bean gets dressed and brushes his hair. A strand of hair stands up so he puts it down just as another strand of hair from the opposite side of his head stands up. So he puts the hair down. Suddenly both hair strands stand up, annoying Bean so he puts both of them down only for them to rise up again. Angry, Bean decides to go get a haircut.
Bean goes outside and tells the photographer and the woman that he'll be back, annoying both of them. Outside a barber shop, Bean chooses the hairstyle of the man in the third photo, which resembles his usual hairstyle. He looks inside the barber shop, in which the barber is an elderly man and there's only one customer so Bean goes inside. The man shows the barber the photo of a bald man and the barber removes the ponytail, revealing the man's long hair. Bean gets annoyed at the long hair and the barber slowly cutting the hair. Bean leaves because he's in a hurry. He then arrives home and he once again tells them to wait some more. In his bathroom, Bean decides to cut his hair himself but the chair is too low. So he brings out a pillow but his weight presses the pillow down, and he ends up in the same position as earlier, annoying him. Bean places four dictionaries on the legs of the chair but this time he's too high, so he opens the books and flips them all to the same pages so he'll be balanced. Bean then wears a cloth but can't grab the scissors because the cloth blocks his hand. After getting the scissors, Bean cuts the cloth so he can easily reach his hair. Bean then cuts his hair, removing the strands standing up. But, for some reason, Bean isn't satisfied so he cuts his hair some more until he's bald.
The photographer, finally losing his patience at Bean, rings Bean's doorbell. Bean goes downstairs and Mrs. Wicket laughs at his bald head, embarrassing him when he realizes his mistake. Bean answers under the letterbox, and the photographer angrily tells him that he doesn't have all day because he's a busy man. The photographer rants at how long he is forced to wait. Bean looks at his bald head and finds a way to cover it. Bean looks at the window and sees the gust of wind blow the photographer's wig away. He then stops ranting when he notices his wig's gone. The photographer tells the woman to help him look for his toupee. While the two are distracted, Bean fishes the photographer's toupee and uses a shoe polish to paint it black. Bean goes outside, wearing the photographer's toupee, now painted black. He and the woman can finally have their photograph and the woman lets Bean hold her kitten.
As Bean and the owner are about to have their photo taken, a gust of wind blows the toupee away. So Bean puts the cat on his head to hide his bald head then the photo is taken. A newspaper is thrown to the front door and Wicket laughs when she sees the newspaper. Later, the barber gets the newspaper and likes Bean's cat "hairstyle" so he puts the photo of Bean on his wall for customers to see. A man appears and goes inside, then he comes out with the same cat hairstyle as Bean, which he likes. The man then gets in line for the bus, which everyone has the same cat hairstyle as Bean.
