Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean decides to dig up his garden and unearths the surprise of his life.
Plot[]
It's a warm, summer afternoon, Mrs. Wicket is resting on her deck chair whilst reading a book and Bruiser Family are in their pool relaxing. Mr. Bean comes outside too but it's too hot for him so he moves closer to Wicket but she tells him to leave because there's no more room. Bean reasons with Wicket that it's too hot to which she tells Bean to get his own shade. So Bean goes back inside and comes up with an idea of creating his own umbrella and placing his deck chair there. Bean comes out of the shack bringing out the equipment. He then digs a hole in the garden, accidentally hitting Scrapper with the mud, causing him to wake up and hiss at Bean. While Bean is digging he hits something metallic so he digs on the opposite side of the hole. While Bean is digging, Scrapper kicks the mud to his face as revenge for earlier and Bean tells him to go away; Bruiser Jr. and his sister are watching and they laugh at Bean. When Bean sees them laughing at him, he tells them to go away. Bean then sees the Bruisers relaxing on their pool. He tries to take their soda but Wicket hits him with her book and tells him to clean up the hole because she has a visitor coming.
While Bean continues digging, he finds a bomb, scaring him. He warns Wicket there's a bomb in the hole but she ignores him and tells him to continue cleaning the hole. Bean still tries to warn Wicket but the ground erodes, causing him and Scrapper to fall to the hole. Bean shoos Scrapper from the bomb but he doesn't listen. The doorbell then rings, prompting Wicket to answer it. Scrapper eventually listens, and the cover falls off, revealing a timer. Miss Wince is at the door just as Wicket answers it. While the timer counts down, Bean imagines the bomb exploding, sending all of them flying including the Bruisers. Bean presses a red button and the timer stops so he puts back the cover only for the timer to resume counting down but faster than earlier. He presses the red button again and the timer is at normal speed again.
Bean tries to warn the Bruisers that there's a bomb but they all ignore him. Wicket brings Miss Wince to her umbrella just as Bean warns them again about the bomb but they don't believe him. Miss Wince asks Wicket what is Bean talking about to which she tells her to ignore him. Bean gets an idea so he races back to his room and ties his pliers to a string and a broom; he shields himself using Teddy and a pillow; he then uses a bowl as a helmet and a trash can lid as a shield. Bean goes outside, accidentally hitting a sleeping Scrapper with the door as to try to disarm the bomb. Due to Scrapper's interference as revenge for hitting him with the door earlier, Bean cuts the red wire which speeds up the timer. Bean, finally having had enough and panicking, shows Wicket and Miss Wince the bomb. Wicket hypocritically tells Bean that he should've said something and they run back inside to barricade themselves. When Bean notices Teddy near the bomb, he rescues him. But he sees Scrapper kicking mud to the hole. So Bean, annoyed, tells Scrapper to get out of the bomb and throws a lemon at him. Scrapper tries to attack Bean but the bomb explodes, sending Scrapper flying into the Bruisers' pool and mud raining down on the Bruisers. Bean returns outside, avoiding the shovel, the umbrella handle, and his pliers still tied to the broom. He then notices the large crater caused by the explosion to which Wicket furiously yells at him for what he had done. Then a broken water pipe in the crater sprays water out. Looking at his plan earlier, Bean gets an idea. Later, Bean shows Wicket and Miss Wince that he turned the muddy crater into a homemade pool for them to relax. Giving Wicket her book, he tells them to sit. Scrapper tries to strike Teddy but he slips and falls to the pool. While they relax, Wicket pets the angry Scrapper just as the Bruisers all glare at them.
