Bed Bean is the 6th episode of Season 5 and 110th episode overall of the Animated Series.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean accidentally breaks his bed using it as a trampoline. He tries to fix it, but he cannot. The next morning, and after an awful night’s sleep, he goes to buy a brand-new bed. He has fun trying all the beds out, but the one that he wants is too expensive. He is about to get thrown out of the shop when he turns his experience of all the beds to his advantage.
Plot[]
Mr. Bean is sitting on his chair with Teddy enjoying some tea and biscuits. Bean is making Teddy get the biscuits but Bean stops him. Bean reads a book and is dips a biscuit on the coffee when a loud banging sound shocks him, making a mess on the floor. Angry, Bean goes downstairs to find out what it is. He sees Bill Durr building a bookshelf for Mrs. Wicket and he tells him to stop hammering so he can read his book without distraction. Bill Durr is finished hammering so he is sawing some wood, angering Bean. Wicket arrives from the store so Bean tries to complain to her but she can't hear him so she goes to her room. Bean decides to go outside to read while having lemonade so he can have peace and quiet.
Unfortunately, he hears another noise and the ice lands on his pants which make him feel very cold. He sees the Bruiser daughter bouncing on a trampoline so he asks if he can have a go and goes to their lawn. Bruiser Sr. goes outside and tells Bean to get out and Bean falls back to his lawn. He tells Bean to get his own trampoline. Bean reads his book again when he trips on the ice before reaching his chair. He can't concentrate because of the noises so he goes back inside where Scrapper screeches at him as always. Back inside, he accidentally trips on Bill Durr's toolbox and drops his book on the floor. He gets his book and goes back upstairs.
Back in his room, he looks at the Bruiser daughter bouncing on the trampoline and he wants to bounce on it as well. He sits on his bed and it's bouncy so he bounces on it like a trampoline. Unfortunately, it breaks after Bean bounces on it too much. At night, Bean tries to fix his bed using wood and glue but it breaks when Bean lies on it. So Bean sleeps on his couch but falls off. So he sleeps in his bathtub but the tap keeps leaking so he blocks it with his toe. While Bean is sleeping he accidentally turns the faucet on and the shower as well so he turns them off. Bean goes to the kitchen and sleeps in the laundry basket but he slips and the laundry basket flips and traps him. So he sleeps on the dining table when he gets poked by the fork so Bean leaves even though he could've just removed the fork and knife off the table. Bean takes Teddy's blanket to use it as his own blanket and sleeps on the floor.
Suddenly, his alarm clock rings, so Bean stayed awake for the whole night. Instead of sleeping once more, Bean goes downstairs, sleepy. Bean finds a magazine and finds a sale for beds at Havlotts. So he goes to Havlotts while still sleepy. Bean falls asleep and hits the car horn making it honk loudly and catching the attention of the Traffic Warden. She knocks Bean's windshield, waking him up and she points to a parking machine. Bean thanks the traffic warden and he gets a ticket from the parking machine and he goes inside the store. Inside the store, Bean looks at the floor map to find the correct floor for the beds which is in the 3rd floor. Bean rides the escalator while still sleepy. He arrives at the floor where an employee greets him but Bean doesn't notice him and he runs to the beds.
Bean starts off with a bunk bed: one bunk for him and the other for Teddy, but he does not like it because it is too small. So he goes to the car-themed bed while still ignoring the employee; he plays with it and he tries to lie on it but he hits his head on the rear part so he doesn't like it. The employee confronts him and Bean tells him he's just looking. He finds a recliner bed; he presses a button causing the rear and front part to go up. Bean presses another button and the rear part goes further up. So Bean presses another button and this time the front part goes up and the rear part goes down and vice versa. The employee turns off the bed and Bean says it's not for him because it's difficult to control. He finds another bed with curtains and messes with the employee and the employee spots him but Bean leaves before the employee can catch him. He finds a sofa bed and pulls the lever to make it recline and he lies on it. When Bean presses the rear part it closes on him so Bean doesn't like it because it's dangerous. He finds 4 regular beds and jumps on all of them into a pile of beanbag chairs. Bean finds a large king-sized bed and he tests it out by jumping on it. The employee asks Bean if he likes the bed to which Bean says yes and he'll take it. The employee shows Bean the price which is a whopping £1,000 so he decides not to buy it.
The employee drags him out but Bean finds a customer who is about to try the sofa bed so he shows her that it will close on her. So Bean shows her the reclining bed in which they test it and the employee snatches the controls from Bean; she likes the bed so she'll buy it. A mother and her child are looking at a bed and Bean shows them the car-themed bed which the son likes and they both buy the bed. Bean shows two girls the bunk bed which they both like so their mother buys the bed. Bean sees a tall man looking to buy a bed, so he checks his height and pushes the three beds together. The man lies down and the three beds put together are perfect for him, so he decides to buy all three beds. With all the beds sold, Bean decides to go home but the employee stops and directs him to the king-sized bed he was intending to buy earlier, but Bean says he cannot afford it. The employee crosses the two zeros in the price tag making it cost £10, thanking Bean for selling all the beds to customers. Bean happily pays the employee £10 and thanks the employee. It is now night time and Bean tells Teddy to hang on tight. Bean jumps on the bed and lays down for a good night's sleep.
