Bean in Love is the 37th episode of Season 1 of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. On ITVX, this episode is labled as the 45th episode of the season.

This episode has two official uploads on YouTube, both on official channel and Mr. Bean World channel. Both uploads masses of 3 million views in total with the first upload being the highest viewed.

Synopsis

He’s got her record, the poster and the T-shirt, so when Mr. Bean's heart-throb, Roxy, is set to sing in concert at the London Palladium, he sets his sights on the only thing that will make his life complete: her signature in his autograph book. A difficult feat but can love prevail?

Plot

Bean plays the record of Roxy and dances along with the broomstick to the song. Suddenly, Bean realises that he has a few minutes to see his beloved singer at the concert, and in a hurry, he quickly grabs the concert ticket with a picture of Roxy with Saturday 8pm dateline sign, autograph book and pencil with a small Teddy on it and exits his apartment. Upon leaving, Bean slams the door, causing broomstick to topple into the record player, thus leading it to play the song in a loop.

Bean arrives in time in concert at the London Palladium and sees Roxy limousine driving past him. Just then, a flock of Roxy fans rush to the limousine in hopes of getting her autograph. Unfortunately, as Bean tries to get autographs from her, he is stopped by her bodyguard, disgruntling him.

Bean, having waited in vain, manage to infiltrate the building by sneaking inside the cello case the man has brought inside, but when he sees the bodyguard securing Roxy room, he steals the flower bouquet and hides his face in order to get inside. However, Bean becomes nervous upon seeing her, and faints. Noticing Bean inside her room, the bodyguard drags him out and throws him into the dark stock room.

As Roxy begins her concert, Bean dances along with his broomstick. Until Bean is startled by the monster puppet and as he stum, he is covered by the duck mascot's head and accidentally activates the platform that directly leads him to the stage, disrupting the concert. As Bean tries to get autographs from her, the bodyguard carries him out with the wheelbarrow, inadvertently leaving the pencil with a small Teddy at Roxy hands. Roxy continues her singing. Soon, Bean is kick out of the concert by the bodyguard.

That night, a heartbroken Bean walks alone at the park with his empty autograph book. While driving through the road, Roxy sees Bean, stops by and gives back the pencil to him. Meanwhile, Bean is stunned by her appearance and Roxy returns his pencil to him and kisses him in the face, which she wipes out the lipstick with her handkerchief. As Roxy leaves. Unfortunately, Bean realises too late that he failed to get her autograph. Horrified, screaming in dismay.

Crestfallen, Bean returns to the apartment in 11pm, stops the record from playing in a loop and throws his autograph book into the waste bin. But when he wipes out his tears using the handkerchief Roxy gave him, he sees Roxy name and a lipstick mark and Bean becomes happy, now that he finally got Roxy's autograph after all. Bean dances along once again to Roxy song, even the cats sing along outside his apartment.

• All of the scenes where Roxy is purring suggestively were cut.
  • However, the scene where Roxy is purring for the first time is not cut.
• The scene where Mr. Bean becomes nervous upon seeing Roxy as she is seen walking to the stage room was cut; her exposed bum crack also plays into why this edit was carried out.
• The scene where Mr. Bean becomes nervous upon seeing Roxy in her room was cut until Roxie comes to him.
• The scene where Mr. Bean falls in love when the bodyguard catches him in Roxy's room was cut.
• The scene where Roxy twirls during her musical performance was cut.
• The scene where Roxy puts the pencil in between her breasts was cut. The same edit also occurs on Boomerang (and later Cartoon Network) feeds in the Asia-Pacific region.
