Bean Shopping is the 52nd and final episode of Season 2 and 104th episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. It is the 26th and final episode released in 2016. It was first broadcast on March 10, 2016 on CITV.
After this episode, there will be no new episodes for the next 3 years until the Season 3 premiere "Game Over" and "Special Delivery" released in April 2019 on CITV.
This episode has only one upload that was on the official channel, currently sitting at 15 million views as of 2025.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean is locked in a department store overnight and has the time of his life.
Plot[]
Mr. Bean is walking outside Havlotts when he sees an attire just like his, so he goes inside to buy it. A woman asks another woman if she wants perfume, in which she ignores her. Bean approaches the woman and says he wants to buy a jacket. The woman sprays the perfume, so Bean can try it; Bean doesn't like the smell at all and sneezes, so he goes away. Bean looks at the list and points at the clothes section which is on the second floor. So Bean rides up the escalator; when Bean arrives upstairs, he stays in place, not moving. After a while, he sees he's now upstairs, so he starts walking when he accidentally hits a mannequin along the way. He apologizes to the mannequin, thinking it's an actual person when Bean realizes it's just a mannequin. Bean then rides another escalator. He is now on the second floor, so he starts looking for a jacket. Bean finds a jacket and trousers just like his. He goes to the fitting room to try out the clothes he took. While Bean is still testing the clothes, the woman opens the door, angering Bean, so he slams the curtains. While the woman isn't looking, Bean sneaks into the first fitting room, not wanting her to open the curtains. In the first fitting room, Bean tries on the attire which he likes.
It's 7:00pm and the woman tells Bean it's closing time, not knowing Bean snuck into the first fitting room. She opens the fitting room, revealing no one inside. While Bean changes back to his clothes, the lights go out because it's closing time. Bean exits the fitting room and it's dark. He walks around the dark department store where there's nobody there. Bean goes to the exit, and it's locked; he realizes he's locked in. Now that he's locked in, Bean decides to have fun in the department store. Bean takes the lift instead of the escalator; he goes to the second floor. Meanwhile, there's a fat thief who uses a crowbar to pry open a window and go inside. Bean plays pingpong against himself. He accidentally turns a ball shooting machine on while he's playing pingpong. The machine then fires tennis balls at Bean, so Bean swings them away by using a tennis racket; he then turns the machine off. The thief looks at the list and picks jewelry which is on the first floor, so he goes there. Bean then goes down to the first floor just as the thief goes up to the same floor. The thief looks at the tiara... but he is forced to hide and drop his sack when he hears Bean walking by. While Bean is looking at jewelry, he bumps into the thief by accident; Bean mocks him thinking he's another mannequin. Bean looks at the jewelry the thief has stolen, so the thief stops him.
Mr. Bean runs away from the thief, while holding a sack containing the jewelry the thief stole. Bean runs into the lift and the door closes just before the thief reaches Bean; he runs to the second floor when he sees that the arrow stopped at number two. The thief arrives at the second floor and Bean hides behind the basketballs. Bean sneaks behind the ball shooting machine and turns it on, and the machine shoots balls at the thief. The thief blocks the ball and the goal falls on him, trapping him inside. The thief breaks free, so Bean grabs some ski equipment and skis down the escalator to the first floor while the thief pursues him. Bean then skis down the escalator to the first floor while the thief is still pursuing him. Bean arrives at the perfume section just as the thief arrives downstairs. He asks the thief if he wants to try the perfume, and he sprays it, making the thief sneeze. While the thief is sneezing, Bean covers his face with a shopping bag. Bean then grabs a tie and uses it to tie the thief's arms, similar to handcuffs. Bean locks the still sneezing thief to a cabinet. Bean puts the sack down and he's sleepy. He sleeps on the bed, and when he wakes up the next day, he sees people looking at him through the window. The security guard and the two police officers approach Bean, thinking he is the thief. Bean opens the cabinet to show them the real thief as a surprise. The thief is arrested and the owner thanks Bean for arresting the thief and tells him he can take anything he likes from the store as a reward. Bean knows what he wants to take: the jacket and trousers just like his.

- This episode uses the same plot from the live-action episode's second act from "The Return of Mr. Bean", But only exception in this episode that he's locked in the department store for the whole night. The part where he ascends on an escalator, but when it ends, he stops moving, it's a reference to the very same episode.
