Ball Pool is the 48th episode of Season 2 and 100th episode overall of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. It first broadcast on March 4, 2016 on CITV.
This episode has two official uploads on YouTube, both on official channel and Mr. Bean World channel. Both uploads masses of 11.1 million views in total with the first upload being the highest viewed.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean does not like sharing the local soft play area with all the annoying kids that play there, so he decides to convert his flat.
Plot[]
Mr. Bean leaves his flat, but the gate makes a squeaking sound when Bean opens it, so Bean decides to buy oil. Bean drives off with his Mini; he parks outside a tool shop called Klank Tools. He goes inside the store and tells the cashier he'll buy oil. The cashier goes to get the oil and Bean sees a long queue to a store called Playtime Jungle. Bean leaves just as the cashier arrives with the oil. He crosses the street and looks through the window of Playtime Jungle. Inside the store, Bean sees kids playing inside a ball pool. Bean goes inside even though he just cut in line.
Inside the store, the father leaves his son to play in the play area while he stays in the cafe. Bean pays the guard but she doesn't let him in because the cafe's in the other way. But Bean wants to go to the play area to which the guard denies him entry because it's for kids only. Angry, Bean storms off while the mother and daughter look at him weird then the daughter goes to the play area and her mother goes to the cafe. Outside, still wanting to go to the ball pool, Bean goes to the back of the line and talks in a high-pitched voice while the kid in front of him gives him a strange look. Bean sneaks in the play area while hiding behind four kids. Inside the play area, Bean is happy he's near the ball pool and he jumps in, causing a tidal wave of balls that nearly drowns the kid playing there. Bean dives in the balls pretending to be a shark while the child gets scared. The child leaves and goes to his mother just as Bean emerges from the balls. The guard spots him so Bean hides in the balls. She goes to the ball pool to look for Bean. Bean escapes and swings in the ropes and falls to a bouncy bed, causing the kids playing to bounce off and land to the laps of parents. Bean jumps on the bouncy bed and Susan’s Mother tells the guard to deal with Bean. Bean wonders where to go next and he goes to the snake slide even removing the kid out of his way. He slides down and returns to the slide, still removing the kid out of his way. Bean returns to the slide so the kid gives way for Bean. He slides down and the guard and the parents confront him; the guard kicks him out and reminds Bean that it's for kids only.
Bean returns to his Mini only to realize his keys are missing so he retraces his steps. He looks at the window and he sees a child playing with his car keys. The guard appears and reminds Bean he's not allowed and Bean sees a deliveryman carrying a box. So Bean wears a hat and carries the box so he can sneak back inside to retrieve his car keys. Bean returns to the ball pool to look for his car keys, throwing the balls everywhere that hit the parents and land on their food. A mother grabs a ball thinking that it's her apple before noticing it's a ball. Bean throws the last ball and retrieves his car keys. Then the guard confronts Bean so Bean flees and swings on the ropes while the guard is pursuing him. Bean then bounces on the bouncy bed but the guard couldn't. Bean then gets caught in a net just as the guard grabs him and kicks him out again.
Bean returns to the tool store and requests nets, drain pipes, lots of rubber seating, plastic dustbin, lots of sponges, and 300 balls. The cashier gets the items for Bean then Bean returns home with all the necessary equipment. When Bean opens the door, the balls fall off his Mini. Mrs. Wicket is reading her book when she hears noises coming from Bean's room. In Bean's room, he's finished setting up his indoor playground. He uses his tub as a ball pool; he about to jump when he hears knocking. Bean answers the door and Wicket appears, asking Bean what's all the noise. Wicket sees Bean's bouncy bed and jumps on it, remembering that she used to enjoy this when she was younger. Bean is relieved because Wicket actually enjoys his playground. Wicket then points to a slide from Bean's window; she then slides down when Bruiser Sr. and Bruiser Jr. spot her sliding. They both want to join the fun. Bean is about to slide when he hears a knock again. He answers the door and it's Wicket, who tells Bean she enjoys the slide; then Bruiser Sr. and Bruiser Jr. join in. Bruiser Jr. slides then two kids who see him slide want to join as well. There is now a long queue to the slide Bean made. Even though Bean made the slide, Bruiser Sr. tells Bean to wait for his turn when Bean talks to him. Bean sadly goes outside and four kids are at the door, wanting to join in as well. Bean closes the gate and it still makes the squeaking noise; he realizes he forgot to buy oil. Bean returns to the tool store and sees the playground is empty. The guard sees Bean looking through the window outside, Bean leaves knowing that he will be asked to leave but this time she lets him in because there's plenty of room. This time, Bean is happy that he can finally play in the playground so he jumps to the ball pool, happy that he is now allowed to play in there.
