A Magic Day Out is the 47th episode of Season 4 of the Animated Series.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Bean and Irma are off for a day at the seaside, where his trunk gets accidentally swapped with that of a stage magician.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Mr. Bean watching his magic show on his TV. The magician places his hand in his hat, and out comes a rabbit. Second, the magician pulls out flowers from his sleeves. Third, the magician tells his assistant to go behind the curtains and the curtains disappear. Bean likes the magic show so he decides to perform it on Teddy. He puts Teddy on the table and says, "Alakazam" but nothing happens. Irma knocks Bean's door and he lets her in. She comments that it's gloomy in Bean's room and Bean tells her to get out of the way. Irma opens the curtains and Bean is illuminated by the bright sunlight. To Bean's annoyance, Irma changes the channel to a weather channel where the UK is experiencing sun. Irma tells Bean they should go to the seaside which Bean doesn't want to but he reluctantly decides to go. Because he's not yet packed, Bean readies his things. Annoyed, Irma tells Bean they're only going for the day, and Bean's bed is full of beach supplies. But Bean brings out a bigger luggage to put his things in, but they're too many. So Bean brings out a trunk to put his things in, and Irma facepalms.
Bean places his trunk on top of his Mini, and Irma points at a beach on her map. Bean drives off but he has to be careful not to drop the trunk. While they're driving, Bean and Irma sing. Then there's a traffic, and in front there's a truck accident. Bean gets Irma's map while she drinks soda and takes another route to escape the traffic; he drives down the stairs. While they're bouncing from the steps. the soda scatters around the Mini. Bean and Irma escape the traffic, and the accident is revealed to be oranges scattered on the road. Unfortunately, Irma is now covered with soda, angering her. They arrive at the beach. Bean gets his trunk while Irma applies sunscreen. Suddenly, it starts raining. So they run to a shack and Bean realizes he forgot his trunk. The magician takes Bean's trunk thinking that his trunk has arrived. When the magician's real trunk has just arrived, which also looks like Bean's trunk. Bean gets the magician's trunk thinking that it's his but it's too heavy. Bean sees a boy skateboarding so Bean calls the boy and places the trunk above his skateboard. Bean arrives at the shack and closes the door on the boy, even though his skateboard is still with Bean. Bean gives the boy's skateboard back to him and he asks for a tip but Bean doesn't give him.
Bean opens the trunk, revealing magic supplies inside. He gets a magic book and reads it. Bean decides to be a magician and wears the magician's hat. He does a magic trick and out comes flowers but Irma sneezes when Bean gives her the flowers. Bean brings out a table and looks at Irma through a tube. He puts the tube on the table and two soda bottles comes out. Bean gives Irma the second soda bottle but when she opens it, the soda sprays on her face. So Bean pulls a long cloth from his sleeves to wipe her. At the magic show, the magician pulls out an inflatable duck from the trunk, shocking him and making the audience laugh. He throws the inflatable duck away and gets a beach ball which he throws away. The magician then gets an inflatable dolphin, making the audience laugh harder. Angry, the magician goes backstage. Back at the shack, Bean pulls out a rabbit from the hat. Outside the theatre, the magician asks the skateboarding boy if he has seen a trunk. The skateboarding boy points the magician to the shack, which the magician goes to to get his trunk back. Bean lifts a dome, revealing nothing and he puts the dome back. He does a magic trick and doves come out when he lifts the dome. Bean continues reading the book and he sees a page where the magician is shown holding a saw and the woman is lying in a box sawn in half. Then the magician bursts in, getting his things back from Bean. Bean asks the magician who he is until he realizes he's the magician from the TV. When Bean asks the magician how can they help, the magician says they can go away and he teleports Bean and Irma back to Bean's flat. Then, Bean's trunk appears above him and falls onto to him and Irma laughs.
